Crysoptix biaxial retardation Thin Birefringent Film™ (TBF™) BA-LT-1000 provides efficient LCD optical compensation, superior wide viewing angle performance and high contrast. The TBF™ is produced by coating liquid self-assembling materials on glass or plastic substrate via printing process, such as slot die (roll-to-roll or flat-bed) with subsequent drying. The TBF™ retarder improves the performance of LCD by increasing the contrast at oblique viewing angles and completely removing color inversion in VA and IPS LCD. The printable retarder exhibits high durability and can be laminated with dichroic polarizer.
Viewing Angle Benefits
The application of BA-LT-1000 retarder to IPS and VA LCD devices drastically increases the contrast ratio at oblique viewing angles (CR more than 100 at viewing angle 60 degrees).
How To Do
Roll-to-Roll Slot Die Technology
The biaxial BA-plate TBF™ retarder is formed from a liquid organic coating material onto the substrate with use of roll-to-roll slot die machine.
Finally, the biaxial BA TBF™ retarder can be laminated together with PVA film between plastic substrates resulting in a cost-effective and durable wide viewing angle polarizer.

Environmental Stability
The BA-LT-1000 retarder has been submitted to the wet environmental test in harsh conditions (temperature 60°C, and relative humidity 90%) for 1000 hours. The TBF™ demonstrates high temperature stability and environmental durability.
